Entry Level Laboratory Assistant

The above is required to join the team providing a comprehensive range of site surveying and ground investigation (GI) services, operating across East Anglia, Cambridgeshire and North London.

Responsibilities:

  • All day to day operational requirements to ensure the smooth running of projects and to protect the Company’s interests at all times.
  • With appropriate training, become competent at undertaking test procedures on soils and materials in the lab and field as required.
  • To perform testing in line with programme periods.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures and operate a safe system of work at all times.
  • Complete all paperwork and records required by the Company.
  • To understand and fully implement the Company’s Policies and Procedures.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Organisation skills.
  • Able to work unsupervised and under pressure.
  • Ideally with a full UK driving licence and a current CSCS card.

Geotechnical Engineer

The above is required to join the team providing a comprehensive range of site surveying, ground investigation and laboratory testing services. We are based in Attleborough, Norfolk however operate UK wide with offices across East Anglia and welcome applications from appropriately experienced/qualified individuals.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the Principal Engineer in managing ground investigation contracts ensuring site works, monitoring, lab testing and reporting meets our obligations safely, to the correct quality and agreed timescale.
  • Client liaison.
  • Site works: Overseeing the delivery of site drilling and testing works ensuring performance meets with our time, quality and safety standards.
  • Logging to BS5930 (on site and in lab).
  • Site works: Ensure the implementation of group/business safety procedures are in place and recording of site-based non-conformances and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Site works: Support the management of field engineering activities to ensure investigative data is obtained in accordance with the good practice and in line with our project obligations.
  • Site works: Ensure samples are organised and labelled appropriately to support efficient flow of samples into the lab (where appropriate – set and check environmental and geotechnical lab testing schedules).
  • Reporting: Undertake 1st stage checking and validation of factual and interpretive ground investigation reports (gain sign off from Geo-environmental Director for interpretative output).

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Degree in geotechnical/civil engineering.
  • +3 years post graduate.
  • +3 years site works and +2 years reporting.
  • Progression towards membership of professional body.
  • Strong teamworking capabilities and ability to work under pressure.
